In this episode, the dogs discuss the vocation of the priesthood. Rob recognizes a new freedom in staying home on Friday nights (6:22), which Connor describes as a “unity of life” (8:30). Mike admits his own struggle with FOMO (17:40) and Connor offers some encouragement with an image that came to him on the Feast of the Sacred Heart (20:14). Rob reflects on Screwtape Letters (30:38) and Mike proposes that, generally, the question “what if” is not from God (32:10). Connor concludes with a recent experience unifying the Bridegroom to His bride. (34:15).

This is your finest podcast. The grasping motif: the most important thing for me to contemplate right now. The comment that love is a free gift. And living in the present is a common theme that Jesus speaks to me about. It is the only way to faithfully serve the Lord with six kids.
There are, by the way, a thousand families that want priests like y’all over on a Friday night to hang out with them and their kids. But I know this idea is missing the point. You do have a higher calling. And honestly when you’re at someone’s home, we can detect that it’s been elevated to a more sacred experience. But being content when Friday means laundry and a book is so very good. Obviously a wife and mother have her own challenges and disillusionments of how time is not spent in a most festive, fun, or perfect way. Contentment in the present. Contentment in your vocation and not grasping. Just truly the finest podcast. Thank you.
Thank you, Geneva! Please pray for us, and thanks for listening!
