• We are one with the Cubs I, like Eddie Vedder, am a Cubs fan. Or at least I have considered myself one from before I can remember. A few years ago Vedder wrote a song about our beloved Cubs that has gotten a lot of airplay recently. It goes, “We are one with the Cubs. With the Cubs we’re in love.” […] Connor Danstrom 2 responses November 18, 2016
  • The bearded squirrel After two and a half years of college buried in biochemistry textbooks, it was time to explore a broader portion of what my university’s “College of Liberal Arts and Sciences” had to offer. So I decided to take a course in ancient philosophy. One hundred level. Nothing fancy. I was attending a gigantic state school, […] Connor Danstrom 4 responses August 13, 2016
  • Pinochet versus Christ the King On September 11th, 1973, Augusto Pinochet*, commander-in-chief of the Chilean army, led a military coup to overthrow the democratic government of Chile. As far as military coups go, it was peaceful. Less than 30 people died. He saw a dark figure […] Connor Danstrom No responses February 8, 2015
  • A Christmas homily from Fr. C-Bisc When I was growing up, the Christmas present that I anticipated the most was a Sega Genesis. It was a brand new video game system at the time, and I wanted it more than anything else I could think of. I wrote letters to Santa Clause, I told everyone I knew that I was hoping to see it under the Christmas tree, and I even made sure I was extra good that year. And sure enough, on Christmas morning, I unwrapped the one I thought looked like it was about the right size, and there it was. I was thrilled. Connor Danstrom No responses December 24, 2014
  • You have nothing to lose but your sins! It’s almost time for Christmas, and the Dogs are taking a few weeks off. In the meantime, please enjoy this little encouragement to take full advantage of the gifts that are available to us all through the Incarnation of the Son of God: —————————————— In his short story, “First Confession”, Frank O’Connor vividly recalls the […] Connor Danstrom No responses December 23, 2014
